Ana Vargas Lau joined Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights in October 2020. Before joining LCCRSF, Ana worked with immigrant owned cooperatives to help them access resources and opportunities to build their businesses. Ana believes in working alongside community to advance economic and environmental justice initiatives. She is passionate about supporting local economies and is dedicated to the economic resilience of Brown and Black communities.
Ana was born in Southern California to immigrant parents from Mexico. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in Saint Louis. She lives in the East Bay with her partner, two doggies, an energetic and bright 2-year-old, and will soon be welcoming another baby into her family.
