Dismantling systems of oppression and racism. Building an equitable and just society

We build the movement by investing in legal fellows and supporting a network of over 1,000 active pro bono attorneys who fight alongside us.

The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area is the leading civil rights organization on the West Coast that works on groundbreaking impact litigation and provides direct services to low-income communities of color.

Message from our Executive Director

Dear LCCRSF Community,

As we stand at the beginning of a second Trump presidency, we acknowledge the deep concerns and fears many of you are feeling. In this critical moment, we want to remind you that LCCRSF will stand strong in the face of these challenges.

LCCRSF has always been committed to protecting civil liberties and fighting for justice, and this commitment is unwavering. With a second Trump administration, there are likely to be increased attacks on the very foundations of our democracy—from the erosion of voting rights to targeted discrimination, from threats to immigrant communities to the undermining of essential protections for people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. But we are ready.

We will continue to fight for justice in the courts while serving communities on the ground, demand accountability from those in power, and build coalitions that can withstand even the harshest of political climates. We are strengthening our capacity for rapid response in the immigration space, relaunching our walk-in clinic to bring critical resources directly to the community, and deepening our efforts to defend and advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice. At the same time, we remain steadfast in our commitment to Immigrant, Racial, and Economic Justice, ensuring that our work will be grounded in solidarity and resilience, drawing strength from the communities we serve and the countless allies who stand alongside us as well as the numerous lessons we have learned from previous fights.

This is not the time for retreat; it is the time for action. We, LCCRSF and its staff, are here, on the front lines, working day and night to ensure that our rights are upheld, our voices are heard, and our communities are protected. In the coming weeks, we will reach out with opportunities for pro bono engagement and capacity-building initiatives, inviting you to join us in this fight for justice.

For those seeking immediate resources, follow us on Instagram and LinkedIn to stay informed. We will fight back against every attempt to undermine our freedoms, and we will do so with determination, compassion, and solidarity.

Thank you for standing with us. Your solidarity is our strength, and together we will rise to meet the challenges ahead. The fight for justice is long, but we are in it together, and we will prevail.

In solidarity,

Bianca Sierra Wolff
