Since 1968, LCCRSF has worked to advance, protect, and promote the legal rights of communities of color, homeless and low-income populations, immigrants, and refugees by challenging the systems and conditions that threaten their rights. As a law clerk or fellow, you’ll be engaged in hands-on work in areas of policy advocacy, impact litigation, and direct services. Through your work in one of our three program areas—Economic Justice, Immigrant Justice, and Racial Justice—you’ll be a critical member of our team.
Law Clerkships (Summer, Fall, Spring)
Under the supervision of an attorney, law clerks prepare legal memoranda, conduct legal research, conduct client interviews, and perform other legal assignments. Clerks are an integral part of the work we do, join the team in our legal staff meetings, and get the opportunity to participate in direct legal services, impact litigation, and/or policy advocacy.
Fellowship Sponsorships
We sponsor applicants for fellowships, including the Skadden, Equal Justice Works, and Justice Catalyst Fellowship Program. Fellowship sponsorship applications are now open.
Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Fellowship
The Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Fellowship for attorneys is a signature endeavor of the LCCRSF, and lasts for a two-year term with a possible extension. This fellowship is designed for an attorney who has practiced for a minimum of two years and has a demonstrated commitment to civil rights law. The fellowship is designed to enhance the fellow’s understanding of civil rights law and prepare them for a career promoting social justice.
