LCCRSF and collaborating partners are excited to share a new legal webinar series in October 2023 aimed to reduce the barriers for immigrant-owned businesses in the SF Bay Area.
10/17 at 4pm: Worker-Owned Cooperatives: A great option for undocumented entrepreneurs (English/Spanish/Cantonese/Vietnamese)
In this presentation we will explain why worker cooperatives are a great option for entrepreneurs without work authorization. We will explain what worker cooperatives are and how they work. We will also talk about some of the obstacles folks without work authorization face when it comes to employment law and how worker cooperatives can offer ways to work around those obstacles. Lastly, we will talk about some specific things to keep in mind while setting up a worker cooperative with folks who do not have work authorization.

Starting a business can be challenging, especially for non-citizens. While starting a business can seem out of reach for immigrants, it is not impossible. This workshop will focus on how it is possible for ITIN holders to start a business, and the different business forms available to immigrant business owners. ITIN holders will also learn the necessary steps to start a business and pitfalls to avoid.

This webinar will discuss tax implications for immigrant owned businesses. The webinar will have information from the IRS about ITIN and EIN. Additionally, we will have a tax attorney available to answer questions.
