Thank you for your interest in working in solidarity with clients, community partners, and grassroots movements to end systemic racism and build equitable communities.

Each year, the Lawyers’ Committee mobilizes over 1,000 pro bono attorneys who contribute almost 30,000 hours of free legal assistance—services valued close to $20 million. Leveraging the power of the private bar enables LCCRSF to engage in impact litigation, policy advocacy and direct legal services in three core areas: Economic Justice; Immigrant Justice; and Racial Justice.

We need legal and non-legal volunteers for a variety of roles. Opportunities and application instructions are described below.

Please note: DO NOT complete this form if you are seeking legal services. Visit our Get Assistance page to ask for help from one of our legal programs.

Opportunities for attorneys:

  • Direct representation (One-time limited scope or extended representation)
  • Impact litigation
  • Legal research, amicus support, policy reports
  • Interpretation/Translation
  • Fundraising/development, communications and administration

Pro bono attorney volunteers receive training and technical support to ensure a positive experience and the best possible outcome for clients.

Application Instructions: Please take a minute to tell us about yourself and how you’d like to help.

Opportunities for non-attorneys:

  • Interpretation and translation services (high need!)
  • Clinic support
  • Legal research, data analysis, amicus support, policy reports
  • Fundraising/development, communications and administration

Volunteer expectations

Due to the time required to onboard new volunteers, we ask for a minimum time commitment, and flexible availability. With limited staff capacity for supervision, we generally prioritize volunteers age 18 and over. If you are a young person looking to get involved, please reach out and we can share ways to be in solidarity with LCCRSF and local community partners.

Application Instructions: Please take a minute to tell us about yourself and how you’d like to help.
