Shannon Arancibia Chacon (she/her) was born and raised in the Bay Area and lived most of her childhood in Brisbane, CA (a small town just south of San Francisco). After some time at community college and a short stint working in the dental field, she decided to go back to school to complete her undergraduate degree. While attending school she participated in Initiate Justice’s Impacted Leaders Fellowship where she, and other system-impacted folks, were taught how to advocate for legislative change around mass incarceration. In Summer 2021 she graduated from UC Davis with a bachelors in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. She then completed an AmeriCorps year with Root & Rebound (R&R), a legal aid reentry nonprofit in Oakland. After her AmeriCorps term she stayed with R&R as a staff member initially supporting with operations, and then transitioned to supporting programs and pro bono coordination before joining LCCRSF as Pro Bono Coordinator.
