Protect our democracy this election season – join LCCRSF, Asian Law Caucus, and California Common Cause as a volunteer poll monitor! We’re recruiting both attorneys and non-attorneys for our nonpartisan election protection program, one of the largest and longest-running poll monitoring efforts in California.

When: Saturday, May 30 & Tuesday, June 2, 2026
Where:  

  • Northern California Counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Marin, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Shasta, Solano, Sonoma, and Stanislaus counties 
  • Southern California Counties: Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties

Commitment: ~4-hour shift visiting up to 5 polling locations (paired with another volunteer)

Volunteers help ensure that:

  • Voters receive required language assistance
  • Polling places are accessible to voters with disabilities
  • Voters are free from harassment or intimidation
  • Elections run smoothly and fairly

Volunteer Requirements

  • No experience required – training provided (1.5 MCLE available for attorneys)
  • Must be 18+ (no citizenship or voter registration required)
  • Access to a car is strongly preferred
  • Bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged to apply

Training (required, choose one):

  • May 14 (6:00–7:30 PM)
  • May 16 (10:00–11:30 AM)
  • May 19 (6:00–7:30 PM)
  • May 20 (6:00–7:30 PM)

Pro Bono Credit and Volunteer Gift Cards:

To help offset transportation costs and as a small token of appreciation, volunteers will receive a $100 digital gift card after completing the program.

Attorneys and law students who are participating in the program earn 1.5 MCLE credit.
